 Grammy winning Alysia Velez is a performing artist and creative, specializing in songwriting, voice, theater, directing and choreography. This year Alysia has been named a Princess Grace Award Winner  in the category of Theatre. She made her Broadway debut as Rapunzel in the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of Into The Woods. (Lear DeBessonet, Dir.) and continued wearing the "hair as yellow as corn" during Into The Woods limited engagements to different cities. This summer, she will be featured in Run It Back, a short film premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival 2026.

In 2025, she originated the role of Lucia "Lucy" San Martin in the World-Premiere of Revolution(s) at The Goodman Theater (Zayd Ayers Dohrn, Book, Tom Morello, Music and Lyrics). Additional credits include Mimi in Jennifer Weber's Production of RENT (Bucks County Playhouse, 2026) and

 Vanessa in In The Heights at The MUNY 2024, TUTS 2025 and again at Broadway at Music Circus 2025.

 

Alysia was also a part of TikTok's first commissioned musical, For You, Paige ( Emily Maltby, Dir. Katie Spelman, Choreog.). Alysia (BM ’22) moved to New York after receiving full scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music to study in their musical theatre program and played Janet Van de Graaff her senior year in The Drowsy Chaperone (Evan Pappas,

Dir. David Loud, MD. Liza Gennaro, Choreog.). Alysia had her opera debut with Magic City Opera playing the Sand Man and the Dew Fairy in their production of Hansel and Gretel.
